In our time here in Europe we have learned about how each of the cities celebrate festivals. The largest and most well known being Carnivale in Venice of course, but each country seems to have their own version of the festival.In the Ticino region of Switzerland, where Lugano is located, the largest celebration occurs in Bellinzona. We all dressed up Tuesday night to see what Rabadan was all about and took the train to the celebration tent in Bellinzona. There were bands, and food vendors, and everyone was dressed in costumes, it was quite an experience.
A few of my friends and I wore masks that we purchased in Florence, and painted our faces for the festivities. It was a fun way to celebrate the holiday:-) Check out our cool pictures!
